Testimonials
Loved my experience at HI and will be back again. The guest house was perfect for our group. It was clean and comfortable. We loved the indoor facilities for the session, although the room was a bit chilly. We also appreciated the hiking trails and completed the green and blue one. We did struggle to find the blue trail and were never able to find the white one. Need better signage to get to the entrances.
Had an unbelievable experience it was like winning the lottery the facility along with all of the staff. Amy was amazing. She had wonderful energy and ran her retreat beautifully. I could not ask for a better weekend away. It has been three years since I’ve done anything for myself. the only suggestion I can make is if you had the market and the café hours open more. The treats in the café were the best the front desk was very kind and helpful. I have absolutely not one complaint whatsoever it was so worth it. I am recommending this place to everyone I know thank you for the beautiful weekend off.
I had a lovely and relaxing weekend. The environment is cozy and welcoming. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food and chocolate (!) were nourishing. It was simple. It was silent. It was everything I needed and nothing I didn’t. An excellent reminder of how uncomplicated it is to take care of ourselves, which gets easily lost in a society that thrives on consumption.
I really enjoyed my time at HI and found the room and bathrooms to be clean and had the essentials I needed for my stay. The room felt cool enough with the ceiling fan, despite the day I checked in being hot. The food was good, and I appreciated the dairy-free options (and gluten-free options, even though I do eat gluten). It was great that there was coffee for sale, as I am a coffee lover! I liked the simple and peaceful decor of the common areas, especially the solarium. The grounds were nice and well kept. I loved the beautiful trails on the grounds. The staff were helpful and friendly. All-in-all a very good first experience at HI.
Overall, I completely enjoyed the experience. It was the first yoga retreat where I felt totally relaxed and at peace with myself. I participated in the Rest and Digest Program Winter Retreat which I really liked. Maura Manzo is very knowledgeable on making the experience a beneficial one for everyone. In addition to the scheduled walks and Moka tour, I visited the Sri Vidya Shrine to meditate and pray and took one of the Institute’s Hatha Yoga Classes. I found the entire atmosphere to be calming and hope to visit again.
