Bill Ryan, Ph.D., RYT-500, CVMT
Bill earned a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Wisconsin. After a nearly 30-year career teaching in higher education, Bill retired in 2015 and moved to the Himalayan Institute, where he lived, studied, worked, and taught for seven years. He completed his 200-hour YTT in 2015 and 300-hour YTT in 2016. He also completed training as an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist. In 2021, Bill completed training and became a Certified Vishoka Meditation Teacher (CVMT).
During his tenure at HI, Bill worked as a certified biofeedback therapist for the PureRejuv Wellness Center, assessing breathing and autonomic nervous system function in hundreds of clients. For several years, he taught anatomy and physiology in the 200 and 300-hour YTTs at the HI. He also led a “Building Resilience” seminar several times a year, as well as yoga classes and workshops in breathing, relaxation, and meditation.
Bill moved to Tucson in June 2022 to be closer to his family. HI remains his spiritual home, and he continues his professional relationship with HI as an adjunct faculty member, teaching in the YTT programs and creating content for HI Online.
